God Bless CDO Backpack Gift Giving

Last May 21, 2012 Concordia Community Church in North Carolina, USA distributed backpacks to more than a thousand children here in Cagayan de Oro.. My grandniece is attending this church with her family and she was the contact person. Their pastor went all the way from North Carolina just to witness the distribution. It is really a blessings to the children here in CDO.

Really, until now our church is receiving relief goods from other Countries. God allowed things to happen for His own purpose but you can see His hand working on His children. God provided already Beam's family with a house and lot in one of the subdivision here almost restoring their things that were washed out. Mayette's family are waiting for the house to be finished soon in one of the subdivision also here. We have decided not to reside in Balulang again. God is really faithful and we praised Him for the lives of our relatives and friends who prayed, giving financial assistance and relief goods to us. (until now we are still receiving)

Our prayers now, that Cagayan de Oro will be spared from another tragic calamities so with the entire nation Philippines.

God bless Philippines! God bless Philippines! God bless Philippines!

Every Christmas our Church is giving away bags of groceries for "Born" (Blessed Our Real Neighbors) this is one of the outreach project of our Church. As in my previous post HERE, this was started with my late husband when we transferred our residence at Balulang. He found out we have many neighbors who only survive through simple jobs. Then every summer we conducted Daily Vacation Bible studies of their children and when he passed away our church adopted it as "Born". But, I and my children still took this Christmas Gift giving us our family project.

Well, because of the tragic incidents we decided to cancel it last Christmas for we do not have the provisions and besides our church was completely muddied.

But thanks be to God, He provided for the finances, the church of my son where his family is attending in Vietnam provided for the resources. Praise God! the beneficiaries were not only Born members but extended to other neighbors who were affected by the calamities.

There was joy in our hearts that in spite of our lots of losses during the tragedy still we were able to extend our joy in our neighborhood. Yes! they had ham, spaghetti and etc. during their New Year's eve celebration, aside from their children who received some school supplies and some bags for their young adults.

My Children

My children with their respective spouses.

My grandchildren...

We were supposed to have our family Christmas Party in one of the hotels in Cagayan de Oro as we had planned for Jinggoy's and Love's family spending their Christmas holidays here. Everything had been prepared even the booking at the venue but because of the pain and tragic experience we cancelled it.

Yes! Jinggoy's and Love's family were also accommodated at my nephew's house. We had a great time on that place that we sometimes forgot our losses and sad experience. As you can see in the pictures we had a lively and joyful Christmas Eve. All my grandchildren enjoyed bonding with each other.

The sad thing only was, our family were not able to have outings, picnics and go shopping because we were still in a daze of what had happened and besides we had not been settled where to stay permanently.
