I Need Your Prayers...

Yesterday, I wasn't feeling well. I had a terrible stomach ache and I kept on vomiting. I was not anymore in total shape so I asked my daughter to sent me to the hospital. Now, I am admitted in the hospital and I'm scheduled for an operation for my bladder stones on Saturday at 8:00 AM.

To all my blogger friends... please pray for me. Please pray for my operation this Saturday and please pray for my fast recovery.

I'll be posting about the Lord's goodness about this when I'm better! God bless!

(Note: I just asked my niece to post this so you can pray for me.)

My Eldest Grandson

A few days ago I was down because I had eaten something which I was not supposed to eat. That food triggered my gastroenteritis. But thank God because I am very well now.

I just remembered that during that day, I was all alone in the house because my niece who is my companion was out for some important matters. So then, I had no choice but to cook my own porridge. I put water in the pot to let it boil and went to my room and lie down. After few minutes I got up thinking the water had boiled already so that I can put the rice into it. But lo! I found out the gas range had run out of gas. I called up Allen, my other niece who is living with Beam, my daughter but then I found out that Allen was in the church for music practice. It was only Renzee (my eldest grandson) who was left in their house. So then, I called Renzee and requested him to cook the porridge for me. Obediently, he came to the house and got the pot with the water and the rice. I just wondered how he would cook it when he does not know anything about cooking. He will be only 12 years old this coming October 1, 2009. But in fairness, he knows how to cook noodles whenever he wants to eat because this is his favorite food.

Suddenly, I was surprised when he brought to me the cooked porridge. I was in awe and asked him how he did it. He told me he asked Allen on the phone how to do the cooking in detail.

Yes! I was very touched of what he did. I thank him for the wonderful work he had done to me.
Smiling, I thank God for the life of Renzee, for being raised by his parents so well. To God be the Glory!

We usually ate Ham during special occasions. If I can still remember, we have plenty of this at home during Christmas season because friends and relatives always gave me this as a gift. I can't stop sharing this photo as my Yummy Sunday entry because I just love looking at the photo... Oh, I can't wait for Christmas to have another of this.

A Day Out with my Grand Daughter, Thea

Last week I had a date with my grand daughter, Thea. She is the eldest daughter of my son, Jinggoy (you can read my post, My Children Chapter 1). Her real name is Alythea Francesca and just celebrated her 8th year birthday last August 3, 2009.

During our date, we ate at Macdonalds which her choice because she missed eating there as there is no Macdonalds at Vietnam. And by the way, they are only here for a few weeks vacation (remember my post, Jinggoy's Family is Coming).

So my grand daughter and I had a good time together. One of the places we went to was a bookstore where she let me buy a High school Musical magazine for her collection. Then our last destination was at the SM Mall where her parents waited for us to dine in one of the restaurants for our dinner.

Yes, we had a good time that when we arrived home, she thanked me and said she enjoyed our day out. Oh! what a very sweet girl she is. Praise God!

1 Corinthians 10: 15-17
I speak to sensible people; judge for yourselves what I say. Is not the cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks a participation in the blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ? because there is one loaf, we, who are many, are one body, for we all partake of the one loaf.

WFW #10 Old and Gray

Psalm 71:18 "Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, Oh God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your might to all who are to come."

A person is never too old to serve God, never too old to pray. Though age may stop us from certain /physical activities, it need not end our desire to tell others especially children about all we have seen God do in our many years of life.

Our Piano

As I have posted about our flood experience, our piano has been badly damaged. We sent it for repair and after many months of waiting, finally it's done and delivered in our house. Well, as you can see in the picture, it has not been restored totally as in the original status as promised by the 'piano man'.

But anyways, at least it has been fixed and can be used so, and my grandchildren up to my great grandchildren can still see the antique piano. According to the piano repairer, our piano is actually not found in the market now or if it is in the market , the price must be so high. Our piano is actually a German brand, and during the time when we bought it, it was already more expensive than the local made ones.

I could remember when we acquired it that Beam ( my second born) was still in grade 3 and she had a private tutor to teach her every weekends. After a few lessons, she got tired and lost her interest. It was only my first born, Jinggoy and my youngest, Love who used to play it that time because Mayette ( my 2nd born) also did not have interest in piano lessons at all.

Now, the piano is sitting temporarily in our church. This piano now belongs to my son, who'll only get it once they've already built their house.

WFW #9 - Potter's hand

Isaiah 64:8"Yet, O Lord you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand."

God is our creator: we did not create ourselves. When we realize that God created us and gave us all we have, as a result, we will want to give to others as God has given us. Then, even if everything is gone, we will not despair because we still have God with us and he can give back to us the things that we have lost.

Gone Are the Days!

During the 70's, we had a hard time bringing cash when we traveled to the Capital city in the Philippines that is the famous Manila. You see, we lived in a Province very far in this City. It takes 3 days to reach the place if we go on board a vessel while 1 hour and 45 minutes if we take the airplane.

Why hard time? Because during that time ATM, credit cards and on line banking services were not yet introduced. As I looked back those times I felt amused. Imagine, when we traveled we had to bring so much of cash for our expenditures and we also have to buy something as giveaways to our family back home.

You know what we did with the money we bring? To keep it safe, my late husband usually put some of it in his socks. And when he sat down some of the cash would be protruding. As for me, I also put some in my underwear. It was funny because everytime we buy something, I had to go to the restroom (toilet or comfort room) to take out the money. LOL! It was a good thing that before also there were not much of pickpockets around unlike today.

Now, praise God because there's no need to worry of bringing so much of cash, if one travels to the capital city or other places because of the convenience of ATM, debit or credit cards and on line banking services. Bringing cash is very risky during these times specially snatchers and robbers are all around. So, you must be very careful because they are only waiting for a chance to rob you anytime.
